Cons of Biking to Class - MM #2 - OOC #1 - Recap
Although the majority of students living on Michigan State University's campus ride a bike to class, there are many other students that walk, take the bus, or drive.
Michigan State student Tim Langford drives or walks to class everyday, but he used to be a proud bike owner during his sophomore year.
Langford said, "I used to ride a bike to class, but it was stolen last year. One of the bad things about having a bike on this particular campus is that it can be stolen easily if not supervised and locked up properly."
"My bike was chained up well, but the thief was quite the genius, and took my bike apart piece by piece," said Langford. "The only part left of my bike was the tire that was still chained to the stairs."
Bikes Service Center Manager Tim Potter said, "If students don't take the proper care of their bike, it won't work properly, which is when most students ditch their bike. Students need to oil their chain weekly, and put fresh air in the tires monthly to maintain a safe riding experience."
